On November the 9th 2008 . Karen and Jeannie were invited to The Fort Monroe Contraband Ball. The ball was hosted by Geri Hollins of The Contraband Historical Society. The Ball was a fund raiser for Perpetual care for a Black Cemetery that had Slaves and a Black Civil War Soldier . The Cemetery was about to be demolished and roads leading to a Sentara Hospital in its place . Gerri raised the perpetual care money and saved the Cemetery. A Happy ending. The Ball was wonderful . Historic building , Good Food and Friends.
