Finding Josiah Joyner !
One of the best things about being in the  United Daughters of the Confederacy is the laborous but loving search for your Confederate Ancestor. Sometimes this leads to extreme jubalation and for some utter disapointment and heartache. Karen and I set out one rainy cold day in March to find her Joyner  CSA brothers.We found information that Josiah and James T . Joyner were in the 6th Va Infantry Co.E and were mustered in at the Bethlehem Christian Church in Suffolk Va., so there is where we began our search. In the Church, a plaque with Josiah's name and division. After this finding a little grave search outside was in order.
A rainy day turned out sunshine when we came across Josiah's grave, along with other Joyners that we are sure must be family. We are still missing James T. but we have just began our search.  Please Blog if you know where James Thomas Joyner is resting. He is in Isle of Wight county somewhere we think.
In September 2011 The Belles attended Heritage days in Courtland Va. On the way back, Karen on a hunch ,stopped by a farm where she felt that her Joyners maybe be intered.
